How old should baby be for photos?
5 to 12 days after birth is best. This is when newborns are at their sleepiest and most flexible stage to obtain those cute newborn curls.
I accept newborns before they are 21 days old (this does not apply to Lifestyle Newborn Sessions, which we can obtain up to 2-3 months of age).
What should we expect during the session?
Sessions can take up to hours to allow feeding breaks ("top offs") and time to settle baby.
Please know your infant's safety is my NUMBER ONE priority - I will not place baby in certain poses you may see on the internet, but I am always open to trying safe positions you wish for me to capture. Please show me these ideas prior to arrival so I can plan accordingly.
The studio is kept WARM for the infants comfort. Please dress lightly and bring water to stay hydrated.
Privacy for breastfeeding will be given if needed.
Where is the studio? What is provided?
Newborn sessions are held in my home studio in Josephine, Tx.
Wraps and props are provided. If there is a special item you wish to bring and include in the photos - please do!
I do NOT have a full newborn closet. Outfits are not provided. I DO have headbands to choose from for the girlies!

In-studio sessions are weekday ONLY from 8 am-2 pm.
Lifestyle/Fresh 48 newborn sessions can be scheduled on weekends.
what should we do before our session?
✦ Keep baby awake for 60 minutes prior to your session. Our goal is to make baby fall into a deep sleep for photos.
✦ Dress baby in just a zip up or button up sleeper with no layers underneath (the less to undress, the better)
✦ Once arrived it is often needed for the infant to feed prior to starting. Don't feel the need to rush a feed before leaving!
✦ Please bring your own pacifier (if baby uses one), diapers, wipes, creams, etc.
✦ Bring bottles of formula/breastmilk if possible.. and then another bottle.. and another. It sometimes takes more to help baby settle.
✦ Sessions can often last hours. Please prepare yourselves with snacks and drinks.
✦ Dress LIGHT. The studio will be warm.
✦ Stork sessions will begin with sibling and family photos. Siblings will NOT be allowed to stay once infant pictures begin. This helps create a calm environment for infant and photographer.
